In front of a station in a small city, a boy, Masao (Hiroshi Fujikawa), was selling pigeons among women who were shining shoes. Kyoko (Yuki Tominaga), the daughter of a company officer, passed by and bought the pigeon for 700 yen. Masao says he sells pigeons because he needs money. Kyoko sympathizes, but in fact it was a skillful way to make money by using the habit of pigeons returning to their nests.

In front of a station in a small city. A boy was selling pigeons among the women who shined their shoes. Kyoko, the daughter of a company officer, passes by and buys the pigeon for 700 yen. The boy says he sells pigeons because he needs money. Kyoko sympathizes, but in fact she made a skillful money by using the pigeon's homecoming instinct. A memorable feature-length debut of director Nagisa Oshima, who was appointed as a director at the age of 27, in an original scenario written by Oshima with the title "Boy Selling Pigeons".
