Motoyoshi Oda (Born: Motoyoshi Oda, 1909 Died: July 21 - 1973 October 21 ) was a Japanese film director known for Science Fiction.
Life[]
Born in Moji City, Fukuoka Prefecture (currently Moji Ward , Kitakyushu City ). After graduating from Waseda University Faculty of Letters, Department of English , joined PCL (currently Toho ) in 1935 . After working as an assistant director for Kajiro Yamamoto , he made his debut as a director in 1940 with "Kunyan's Triumph".
Initially, he directed a lyrical female film , but in his third film, " Utaheba Heaven" ( co- directed with Satsuo Yamamoto ), he responded to the request of Roppa Furukawa , who starred in "I want to do a fool once a year." Te slapstick comedy challenge. Since then, he has become good at this field as well.
After the war, Japanese film was formed in world trade union affiliated to-date Utsu演(Japan movie theater trade unions). When the Toho dispute began in 1948, he was listed as one of the proponents of the "Japanese Film Protection Association" formed by film directors and screenwriters (other advocates were Kajiro Yamamoto, Sadanosuke Kinugasa , and Hei Gosho. He directs a PR movie (currently the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications ). He died on October 21, 1973. He died at the age of 64.
He loves liquor but has a gentle personality that keeps smiling and is loved by young staff, and was nicknamed "Odabutsu-san".
